My Galavant's

Hello, my lovely Nettles!

I've missed our talks,

I think that I am going to do one BIG catch-up post about so much stuff that's been happening in the past month, which has been surprisingly alotttt.

So first, my boyfriend and I went to the tree festival that I talked about in a previous post that I was crocheting for, you can see peace of writing I did for it here (I will make a page for it eventually) which was was amazing and yes I did actually finish my crochet which is honestly insane because I was up at 2 am the night before we left threading and bending and twisting really hard wire into the shape of a circle to go around my signs while my love slept on the couch.

Next, we went to a snowball in a town not far from mine, where E lives. It was wonderful, it was in the arts hall and had white sheets hung up from the ceiling, drooping down along the hall's roof length, it was lovely. There were firelights, and so many people, of all ages as well!! From very old to little kids and in-between, I got to meet E’s love for the first time, and he was so lovely for her, I’m so excited for them!

We danced and danced, and it got very hot tbh because of all the bodies, but also the lack of ventilation as well as the toasty old fire in the corner of the room, roasting us away.

Going to be sappy for a moment and talk about how that night was so special for us, it was the actual first time that my boyfriend and I have been able to show physical affection in front of people in the whole 1 1/2 years that we have been together and it was so special to us, with my boyfriend being a dancer its just so fun to dance with him and just watch him dance and of course he upstages me in everything, but he’s so talented and I never get to see him go all out. We got to hold each other ad dance and spin me and dip me and it was so wonderful, because this was the first time my mum wasn’t at the event with us. I can’t wait to go to the snowball again next year!

In the time between, I got to spend lots of time crocheting I made 2 fairy wrap skirts, which took so much more time than I thought they would, but they were finished in the end and I love them. I’ll see if I can add some photos of them.

I was making the skirts for two things, first book week (My last one as a student) and I went as Sorcha from heart of the fae my Emma Ham, I had blue druid face paint and made these, OH, I forgot I also got really into beading, not really like bracelet beading but like making armbands out of wire and attaching little jewels to them and twisting and braiding the wire into spirals and what not, it was so fun and I got to into it for a time but my fingers got so sore from it lol.

Anyway I had my armbands, which you can see in the whipcording photo, my mums vintage velvet top that she’s had since she was young, cause she’s magic, I had this beautiful heavy green skirt which I so warm, I had my curly hair and put a braid over my forehead, I attached a blue velvet rune bag, a bottle of fairy dust, ceramic mushrooms and flowers to my skirt and the leaf/acron baggy thingy that I crocheted and I think I looked pretty neat.

I didn't win, but it’s okay cause Z deserved to win, she looked lovely.

Now you must know that I did reuse this outfit once when I went to the Balingup Medieval festival, which I think is okay because it was an amazing outfit.

The medieval festival was last weekend and it was really amazing, I drove there which was horrible but when we got there the first day was so lovely and sunny, we got lots of yummy food, I got to meet up with my cousin who went as a pirate, the parade was wonderful and the music was incredible, the kind of music that reverberates through your body and feels like its waking up your soul or something, we danced and jigged to the music. My favourite is when they sing old English and Scottish songs, it feels like my childhood and just my favourite type of music.

Away a bit from the stalls there was this beautiful bridge that had the view of looking up at the rolling green Balingup hills, and across the bridge past the shimmering trickling stream on the hill, was two young boys sword fighting, and others eating there picnics on the hill, the sun beginning to slowly set behind them casting golden hour over them all, and it felt like complete magic, like we had travelled back in time, to this lovely, beautiful, magical time, and I know thats all fantasy and just because it was old doest mean it was better but dont we all long for the past, maybe its cause ive watched to much outlander and poldark but I love it.

We walked along the path, following the creaking stream and went up the hill. My love sprinted down the path, somehow skipping as he went, and I eventually reached him. He was up in a tree, lying back, he’s so wonderful.

We went up to the very top again, where there was a train track that on one side went over a big bridge over the lake and on the other side, it was a picture of perfection, the thick tree cover, branching over the tracks reigns to meet in the middle from either side but still letting shivers of the golden sun through there dewy leaves, and up there was this lovely young couple, probably around our age if a few years older, and they were giggling and walking along the track and of course I asked them if they wanted photos taken of them because when the moment is the most special is when we forget to take photos the most, they giggled and said yes in there pretty matching outfits, my lovely the photographer took the photos and I tried, to direct them telling them to walk back and look over there shoulder, to hold hands and walk along the tracks to fall off and laugh, and things like that as you do.

Life in those moments are so perfect, and you can feel the magic of ease and youth envelop you.

Im sorry this is so long, but it really is my mental diary, so I can remember all of the specialist things that happen to me, memories I especially don’t want to forget.

We got ice cream, watched the music, we danced around the giant green burning dragon, and watched the little play that they palyed before they lit it on fire, the fairies with there light wings twirled around it and the king of balingup for the weekend and sword fights with the fire twirlers, with swords that were made out of the things they do fire twirling with it was wonderous, and when it was done we went in a giant circle of hundresds of people around the ashy dragon.

I always think about how much time must have been put into making that giant green dragon, how much paper mache or whatever they use to make it and then they just watch it burn, or people who make mandalas on the ground just for people to dance in it and watch it get destroyed by the end, how people make something for it to be used and destroyed, its such an interesting thing that type of art that is make to be enjoyed used and then destroyed by the end.

my love and me medieval

Now im back at school and I dont have a special event to keep me going to think about, maybe the end of year ball, but that's more daunting than exciting, for it's at another school cause our school doesn’t have a ball. It’s the last stretch, only two flicks of a calendar, and then I’m done with school forever. I didn't expect it to creep up this quickly this term, but it has.

Exiting news I got yesterday though! That my love and I might be getting a van this weekend!! My darling was looking online and saw the perfect van, its a little less then 10,000 but he’s been working so hard for our van while Im still in school, and its perfect for us, its got a very tall roof, apparently tall enough to have a 6 foot man in it, not that either of us are anywhere near 6 ft but still!! It was a beautiful wood interior all through it and is completely gutted besides a 2000-watt battery and solar panels on the roof, its even automatic, and close by!! Its perfect, because its gutted it allows us all the creative freedom we need to design it perfectly for us, im so exited and praying so hard that when my love and his dad go to see it this weekend think its still subtable and that its running well, im so exited and happy its hard to explain, this thing we’ve been dreaming about and now the perfect one has shown itself to us. Oh, and it even has an annex. (EDIT: we didn't get it cause there was stuff wrong with it that wasn't included, and im so heartbroken)

I think that's all for me today, a nice big rant, full of stories, rightfully so after such a big lapse of posting, all of these wonderful things took up every waking moment. Oh, also my love left his switch with me and I've been playing LOTS of Skyrim, all be it not too well, but I love it so much its so fun to play at the end of the day. Im planing on marrying either Farkas or Vilkus I can decide, and im trying to join the companions but im not a high enough level or whatever to actually be able to complete the quests they send me on, it feels like i just have to keep going back a save a hundred times, also, what in the Y/N was Farkas turning into a werewolf and then saying, “I hope I didn't scare you”, I cackled.

I recently also learnt how to do nal-binding, I think I’m going to do a post just about it cause it's so much fun and I really want to talk about it. Right now I‘m just learning, but im getting so much better and I feel so special while making it.

Writing this while my tummy is feeling like it's going to come out of my body, on the school bus, but it's distracting me well and keeping me positive.

Lots of love!
